IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William "Bill"
John Bachand
April 17, 1948 – November 21, 2025
Bill, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away peacefully November 21, 2025, at home surrounded by the love of his family. Bill struggled with Vascular Dementia for many years and is finally at peace in his Savior's arms. He was a man of extraordinary strength, humor and heart - someone whose presence filled a room and whose stories (sometimes appropriate, sometimes not) could make anyone laugh, listen and feel understood.
For over 30 years Bill proudly served his community as a police officer with the Stanwood Police Department and Snohomish County Sheriff's Department. Serving others wasn't just his career, it was "who" he was. He was steady, dependable, and compassionate, the kind of officer who made lasting impressions because he treated every person he met with dignity and kindness.
Bill had a big heart and an even bigger personality. Everyone who knew him, knew a different version of him - protector, storyteller, jokester, mentor, a soft place to land.
He is survived by his devoted wife Randi, his children: Brett, Melissa, Brian, Aaron, Rachael, Becca, Jazlynn, Alexa, and Donevan, and his brother Bernie in California. He was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride. He also leaves behind brother-in-laws, David (Tracie) and Steve (Becky) Skrinde and various nieces and nephews who adored him and will continue to carry his memory forward through stories, laughter and the love he shared with them.
Though his time here feels unbearably short, Bill's legacy lives on in every person he touched, in the family he loved so fiercely, the community he served with honor and in the countless memories he created with those lucky enough to know him.
