Obituary

William John Herwick Jr. "Sunny" age 82, left us November 17th to be with our Lord and Savior after a short illness.

Born in Minnesota to William and Jane Herwick in 1938, the family moved to Seattle, Washington when Bill Sr was stationed at Sand Point Naval Station. Sunny graduated from Queen Anne High school and enlisting in the Untied States Navy. Assigned to VAH2 at NAS Whidbey Island, He made the inaugural A-3D Skywarrior Heavy Bomber WESTPAC aboard the USS Ranger. Completing his enlistment, he married Mary Beth Ragland, bought a house in Edmonds Washington, and worked as a Sheetmetal journeyman for Kollmar Sheetmetal in Seattle and later for Northshore Sheetmetal in Woodinville.

Bill was active in the Sno-King Hockey league in Shoreline as a Coach, where his 2 boys played for many years. Additionally he was involved in the Boy Scouts of America Troop 58 in Edmonds WA. He was also active in his Daughters Snohomish County girls soccer League as a coach for her team. One of the highlights of his life was the Tiger Cruise aboard the USS Nimitz, where 3 generations of Herwicks sailed from Hawaii to Alameda California. Later he would be afforded the opportunity to take another Tiger Cruise aboard the USS Ranger on her final Cruise before being retired from the fleet.

Bill married Margie _______ in July 1985 and they moved to Camano Island.

Bill and Margie became active with the American Red Cross, and one of their proudest moments was being called out to assist with the Katrina Hurricane Disaster recovery in New Orleans, and the 9-11 terrorist attack recovery efforts in New York City. He was also active in the local Boy Scout program.

Bills hobbies were model trains and tinkering in his work shop, he never gave up his passion for making things out of sheet metal. He was an avid Vancouver Canuck Hockey fan, and never missed a Stanley Cup playoff game on TV. Bill loved to laugh and have fun and was a great friend and neighbor, always willing to help out with any project

Bill is surveyed by his younger Brother, Pastor David Herwick of Burien Wa, his Uncle Steven Anderson of Seattle Wa, his 3 children. William John Herwick III (John) of Oak Harbor WA, Thomas Herwick, of Concrete WA, and Hallie Herwick of Arlington WA, his 4 step children, Edward and Cheree Chabot of Seattle, William and Kim Chabot of Marysville, Jeffrey and Marcy Chabot of Granite Falls and Rhonda Chabot of Marysville, . Grand child Daniel Scott (Scottie) King of Aberdeen WA. 6 Great Grandchildren Many step grandchildren and Great grandchildren
