Obituary

Tillmon L. Osborne ("Tim") went to be with his Lord and those who went on before him on November 30, 2020. He had been residing at the nursing home section of Josephine Caring Community in Stanwood following a fall on May 15 resulting in a fractured femur requiring surgical repair. Tim was born August 30, 1930, near Scotland, Arkansas, to Larkin Leroy Osborne and Dessa Mae (Summers) Osborne.

The family moved multiple times during Tim's childhood and teen years, eventually settling in Mapleton, Oregon, in the mid-1940s. While there he met a lifelong friend, Robert Davis, who encouraged him to move to Stanwood, Washington, in the late 1940s. They began their careers together working as metal fabricator industrial machinists at Skagit Steele & Iron Works in Sedro-Woolley, Washington. Tim worked there until forced into early retirement at the age of 60 when the foundry closed down in 1990. In addition to the full-time job, in order to support his young family, Tim worked part time for several years at Twin City Auto Parts in Stanwood.

It was Bob's Mother who introduced Tim to the Lord after a watchnight service at the Cedarhome Gospel Tabernacle on January 1, 1951, and his commitment to and love for the Lord continued to grow and remained steadfast through his 90+ years.

In 1953, Robert Davis and Barbara Nelson (later Davis/Norgaard), introduced Tim to a wonderful woman, Ellen Louise Dujardin, and they were married on June 13, 1953. They purchased three acres of the ten-acre partially wooded property that Bob owned and bought a small home from a military base and had it moved onto the property. Later Tim built a separate large garage, added three rooms and a carport to the home, and converted the original small home to three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Tim spent countless hours on the property keeping the paths cleared, building a bridge across the creek, a large cabin and firepit area, and a treehouse near the creek. The six Osborne and Davis children spent their childhoods playing there, and later the Osborne grandchildren enjoyed campouts with Grandpa in the cabin and riding his four-wheeler.

Tim and Ellen had a fulfilling life together raising their three children, enjoying various activities with family and friends until Ellen went to be with the Lord on June 1, 2003. On September 18, 2004, Tim married a delightful woman, Adaline Wood Burchard. They enjoyed many happy years together, including holidays and gatherings with their blended family and friends, until she went to be with the Lord on May 19, 2015.

Tim was a man of many skills, talents, and interests: basketball; hunting; fishing; golf; outdoor camping; carpentry; hiking; waterskiing and boating; car maintenance and repairs; woodworking/lathe work; and locksmithing. He also enjoyed board and card games, such as

Scrabble, Aggravation, chess, checkers, Rook, Rummikub, and dominos. He never had the opportunity to learn to play a musical instrument and made certain that all three of his children learned to play at least one. Tim had a passion for introducing others to his Lord, and for many years he was an active leader in the Assembly of God Royal Rangers Ministry, an activity-based small group church ministry for boys and young men in grades K-12. Some of the activities included Bible study and training; outdoor camping; and building unpowered, unmanned miniature cars out of pinewood and competing with them in the Pinewood Derby Races.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ellen, and later his wife, Adaline; his brother, Virgle L. Osborne; his sister, Etta Mae (Osborne) McCaslin; his brother, Ralph Doyle Osborne; and his step-daughter-in-law, Bev Burchard.

Tim is survived by his three children, Valeta G. (Osborne) King (Will), Kevin L. Osborne, and Doyle M. Osborne (Velda); daughter-in-law, Suzanne Osborne; four stepchildren, Brad Burchard, Phil (Michele) Burchard; Bruce (Deborah) Burchard, and Gary (Suzy) Burchard; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; many step-grandchildren; several step-greatgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Due to COVID restrictions there will only be a small private graveside service, but the family wishes to express their sincere thanks and appreciation for your support in thought and prayer during this time, even though we are not able to gather together for a full memorial tribute to Tim's life.

Tim was a caring man of high moral character, and a devoted husband, father, and friend. Although admittedly frustrated and discouraged by the challenges he faced particularly in his later years, Tim remained unwavering in his love for the Lord and each member of his family. Our memories of him will live on forever in our hearts till we meet again.
