Thomas J. Petruzzi
Thomas Joseph Petruzzi, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and community servant passed away unexpectedly on the morning of April 29, 2013. Tom was born in Hazleton, Pennsylvania to Joseph and Mamie Petruzzi on March 21, 1938. He was raised in Hammonton, New Jersey and came to Washington State after joining the Air Force in 1957. He retired to Camano Island in 2000. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Maryke, and his daughters Donna (John) and Kathleen (Bob). He was beloved "O-Pop" to 7 wonderful grandchildren who were the light of his life: Alex, Aliena, Gabe, Sean, Annaliese, Jason, and Andrew. Tom was preceded in death by his sister Phyllis and his grandson Nathan.
Tom ended his 40-year career in finance as a senior vice-president for Washington Mutual. After retirement, he fulfilled his life-long ambition of completing his Bachelor's degree at Western Washington University (2006).
Tom was devoted to his family and his community. He committed his time and energy to public service and a variety of charities including: the Edmonds City Council, WWU Center for Pacific Northwest Studies, St. Vincent de Paul, St. Martin's Program for the Homeless, and St. Cecilia's Parish of Stanwood. He touched so many lives through his volunteer work.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday May 7th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia's Parish in Stanwood, with a Recitation of the Rosary at 10:00 and a reception following the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to: Society of St. Vincent de Paul, St. Cecilia Conference, and Stanwood, WA.
