Obituary
Ted Charles Bingell was born to Frances (Euse) and Charles Bingell in Lexington, Nebraska on June 22, 1940. He grew up in the Greenwood area of Seattle; spending summers at Warm Beach. He served as an altar boy at St. John Church, attended St. John Elementary School and graduated from Blanchet High School in the first graduating class.
Ted earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees at Central Washington University in Ellensburg. In 1967, he purchased his own home at Warm Beach. He taught for thirty years in the Marysville School District where he was revered by his students and colleagues. He received a number of awards for his work in education, was the first male kindergarten teacher in the State of Washington, and was named the National Teacher of the Year.
He married Nancy Eileen Carroll in Seattle on June 28, 1969. Ted and Nancy raised their two daughters Renee' Katherine and Amy Marie at Warm Beach.
In retirement, he spent time fishing and hunting in Port Susan Bay and in Eastern Washington and Montana with friends. He maintained a wonderful, large garden filled with flowers and all sorts of vegetables and fruit that he was happy to share.
Ted leaves his beloved wife Nancy at the family home, and daughters Renee' (Gordon) Graham of Marysville and Amy Bingell of Seattle; his sisters, Becky (Rusty) Marti and Judy (Ron) Kissler; and his very special companion, Ruby, his black Lab.
Ted Bingell was a true friend who possessed a highly developed sense of humor. He loved sharing stories, and making people laugh. He was kind and generous with others. His presence will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, do exactly what you admired and loved about Ted: spend some time with a friend.
Rosary will take place at Gilbertson Funeral Home, 27001 88th Avenue NW, Stanwood, on Friday, July 17 at 7PM. Mass will be celebrated at 11AM, Saturday, July 18 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 26900 78th Avenue NW, Stanwood.
Following the service on Saturday, lunch will be served at The Norgaard Cultural Center, 27130 102nd NW, Stanwood.
