Obituary

Susan Marie Wells May 28,1973 – September 11,2020 Susan Marie Wells passed away unexpectedly on 09-11-2020. Her health had been declining over the last year. She is survived by her Father Arne Bodtker, Brothers Mark & Robert Bodtker. Susan was born on 05-28-1973 and was adopted by her loving parents Arne & Sandra Bodtker at the age of 3 days old. She had a passion for gymnastics at an early age and received several awards. She graduated from Bothell High School in 1992. She had different interests that led down a career path of a work that included coaching kids in sports, working in a vet clinic and in entertainment as a stagehand. Susan loved animals. She grew up around dogs and then later she had 2 cats. She had adopted both cats, Jade (black cat) and Bubba (stripped tabby). She loved her cats with all her heart. She was also passionate about the ocean. She loved Whales and Dolphins. She took up causes that helped the save the ocean. Susan was married to Jeffery Wells on 08-27-1994. One of the happiest days her life. They didn't have any children. They were divorced on 12-24-2003. Susan enjoyed telling stories about her days as a stagehand. She helped set up concerts (Farm Aid to Ozzfest) and corporate gigs (cooking demos, product launches). She had encountered numerous musical celebrities (Willie Nelson, Natalie Cole) during her time backstage. Susan had suffered numerous health issues starting in her mid-20's. The most prominent was Crohn's Disease. It was a constant struggle for her, forcing her to move back in with her parents. With the help of her best friend / caregiver Heather Cudnik, Susan was able to live a full life. Heather was able to take her a fundraiser for the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation. While there, they were able to meet the lead guitarist of Pearl Jam Mike McCready (who also suffers from Crohn's disease). He ended up giving her a hug and the shirt off his back. That made her the happiest person on the planet! She was taken to soon at the age of 47. Her passing leaves a huge hole the lives of those who were closest to her. She was cremated & a memorial is being postponed until things with COVID-19 reaches a safe level. You can make a donation in her name to one of the following charities: 1.
