Stanton C. Rice, 75, of Camano Island, WA passed away peacefully at home Sunday, October 30, 2022. He was surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Stan, the eldest of three boys, was born January 16, 1947, in Iowa City, Iowa to Harlan and Virginia Rice. He grew up and graduated in La Porte City, Iowa. He proudly served 4 years in the U.S. Navy stationed in Hawaii. Upon earning an Honorable Discharge, he returned to Iowa and attended the University of Northern Iowa, graduating with his bachelor's degree in accounting. Through mutual friends Stan met the love of his life Illa Rae. Stan and Illa Rae were married at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa in 1979 and he became a devoted and loving father to her three children Cindi, Robert and Kris.
While working as a project accountant, he and his family traveled across the United States eventually settling in Washington State, near the Puget Sound. Seeking a change, Stan became a successful real estate agent. He was best known for his kind nature, honesty and unwavering integrity.
Stan enjoyed boating, especially sailing and crabbing. He would often tell stories of his adventures on the water and willingly shared his bounty to family and neighbors. He and Illa Rae loved to travel and experienced many adventures together: riding elephants in Thailand, visiting the castles of England and Wales, as well as exploring the wonders of Mexico.
Stan will always be loved and remembered for his robust and deep belly laugh by all who knew him but especially by his wife Illa Rae, his brother Jim and Steve and their families, his children Cindi, Robert and Kris, his grandchildren Jennifer, James, Stephanie, Kayleigh, Emilie, Lennon, Domenic, Josh, Quentin, and Drew, his great grandchildren Aurora, Erica, Jasmine, Delilah, Aryanna, Barrett and Boden.
