Shirley Monteith passed away at the age of 89, from a stroke. She was born to parents George and Mildred Hammer in Salem, Oregon and graduated from Arlington High School in 1951.

Shirley and husband Red raised their 3 daughters in Everett, Washington. They were generous, welcoming, and their home was filled with music and laughter.

Shirley was artistic and clever which served her well in her career. From advertising at the Everett Daily Herald, selling real estate at Realty One to owning, developing, and becoming a broker at Bayside Reality in Mukilteo, Washington. In her spare time, she and Red bought and sold homes as a successful renovating team.

She is survived by daughters Patti (Michael Greenslade), Holly, and Susan. Grandson Mason. She is preceded in death by her husband Harold "Red" Junior Monteith of 49 years, brother Jim Hammer, nephew Steve Hammer, and Niece Kathy Whitson.

Shirley spent the last years of her life with Patti and Michael in their loving home.

A celebration of Shirley's life will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 from 1pm to 3:30pm at Rosehill Community Center, 304 Lincoln Avenue Mukilteo, WA.
