Shari Lee Madamba was born on May 19, 1959, in Bellevue, Washington, to Linn Emrich and Patricia Younger.

She graduated from Bellevue High School and later attended the University of Washington. From a young age, Shari had a deep love for animals, especially horses and dogs. She spent countless hours riding and competing in horse shows, participating in western pleasure, English riding, trail horse competitions, and trail riding throughout Bridle Trails State Park in Bellevue, Washington, and Tiger Mountain near Issaquah, Washington. Horses remained one of her greatest passions throughout her life.

Her love for dogs was just as strong. She enjoyed showing dogs, whippet racing, agility, and herding, and anyone who knew Shari knew how devoted she was to them. She shared a special bond with animals, and somehow they always seemed to love her just as much in return. Later in life, she combined that passion with a love of farming by creating a small sheep farm, where she trained her herding dogs and cared for her own flock.

She also proudly embraced the role of a "sports mom," spending years cheering on her sons through soccer, basketball, and tennis. Her greatest joy was seeing Shawn and James grow, and there was nothing she loved more than being their biggest supporter.

A place that truly captured her heart was her beloved property on Camano Island. She loved spending most of her days there, always finding a new project to improve, soaking up the sun with her dogs, or heading out on her golf cart or UTV. The property became the gathering place for so many treasured memories, hosting family reunions, picnics, parties, camping trips, and even two weddings. It was a place where family and friends always felt welcome. Shari loved the outdoors and was always ready for an adventure, whether she was flying with her father in his airplane or glider, jet skiing, kayaking, or simply enjoying the beauty of the land she loved so much.

But more than the hobbies and adventures, it was who Shari was that left the greatest impact.

Shari was a true go-getter. She faced life's challenges with determination and strength, never backing down from what she believed was right. She was the definition of a "Mama Bear"—fiercely protective of the people she loved and always willing to stand up for them. She was one of the strongest people we have ever known. She never let anyone push her around, and she taught those around her the importance of standing up for themselves and for others.

She was hardworking, outgoing, and had an infectious personality that drew people to her. She was often the life of the party, greeting everyone with a warm smile, making them feel welcome, and ensuring everyone was having a good time. She had a gift for conversation and made people feel heard, understood, and valued. Simply put, she made life more enjoyable for everyone around her.

Above all else, Shari's greatest love was her family. She loved her sons, Shawn and James, with everything she had. Whenever they felt lost or discouraged—whether in school, work, or life—she was there to lift them up, encourage them, and remind them to keep moving forward. She believed in them even when they struggled to believe in themselves, and her unwavering support helped shape the men they became.

Shari is survived by her loving husband, William, and her two sons, Shawn and James Madamba, of Stanwood, Washington.

To know Shari was to know someone who lived with passion, loved without hesitation, and made every gathering brighter simply by being there. Her strength, warmth, laughter, generosity, and unconditional love touched countless lives. The memories she created, the encouragement she gave, and the love she shared will remain with all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

If there was one lesson Shari would want to leave behind, it would be this: Work hard, stand up for what is right, and lead with kindness. Treasure your family and friends, cherish every moment together, and never miss an opportunity to make someone feel welcomed, supported, and loved.

A memorial service for Shari will be held on Saturday, July 18th at 11:00am at New Life Church (North entrance) in Everett with a reception to follow.
