IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sandra Virginia
Nysether
July 8, 1940 – March 11, 2018
Sandra V Nysether (Larsen) passed away 3/11/2018 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Nysether, her sister Carol M. Keener and brother in law Wayne V. Keener. The daughter of Norman Arnold Larsen and Florence Margaret Larsen, Sandi was born in Everett, WA on 7/8/1940. After completing nursing school at the University of Washington, Sandi worked for many years at the Harborview Burn Clinic as a registered nurse and was eventually the head nurse. Sandi worked in that position for 15 years. She then worked for the Snohomish Health District where she dealt with the spread of communicable diseases and with other health issues. She also worked for Mary Kay Cosmetics. Sandi married Ed in 1992 they enjoyed twenty plus years of marriage.
Sandi's Lutheran faith played a major role in everything she did. She was perpetually ready to tell the story of Christ's death and resurrection for the forgiveness of sins in a gentle and consistent way. Sandi was reluctant to take credit for all the work she did for people, Sandi consistently directed the attention to Jesus as the reason. Sandi never hesitated to help people, whether it was patients at the Harborview Burn Clinic, family or strangers. She also delighted at teaching Sunday School at Peace Lutheran Church and gave her time to Bible Study Fellowship. Sandi liked to say "Trust in the Lord. If we trust in ourselves, it doesn't work as well." Sandi is survived by her niece Christina Thoren of Berthoud, CO, nephews Stephen Keener of Liberty Lake, WA and Jeffrey Keener of Bothell, WA, Gerald and Donna Nysether of Arlington, WA and Mary Nysether of Seattle, WA. She is also survived by her cousins Barbara Aydelott, Duane Locknane and many great nieces and nephews. A grave side service is planned for Thursday, March 15 at 11:00 AM at the Peace Lutheran Church Valley View Cemetery. A reception at Peace Lutheran Church will follow. In lieu of flowers donations to Peace Lutheran Church, 1717 Larson Road, Silvana, WA 98287 would be appreciated. Further details can be found at www.gilbertsonfh.com.
