Sallyanne Mouracade, age 79, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2023 in Everett, WA. Born July 1, 1944 in Buffalo, NY.

Sallyanne was raised in Buffalo, NY and Columbus, OH. She moved to New Rochelle, NY after marrying Michael Mouracade in 1962. They raised three children together while Sallyanne wrote articles for publications including the New York Times. In 1991, the family moved to Camano Island where they had often spent summers. When not catching salmon, she worked in her garden and volunteered for the Utsalady Ladies Aid and the Camano Island Senior Center. In 1997, Sallyanne and Michael started a garden dedicated to growing produce for the Stanwood Food Bank, a program that continues today.

Some of Sallyanne's hobbies include being a published author, voracious reader, expert gardener, fisherwoman extraordinaire, avid sports fan, dedicated wife, and loving mother.

She is proceeded by daughter Kimberly (8/30/95), survived by husband Michael, 2 sons Thomas and John, and 5 grandchildren.

A wake for Sallyanne will be held at Gilbertson Funeral Home on Monday, 7/17/2023 10-12pm and 2-4pm. Graveside services will be held at Mount Vernon Cemetery, Tuesday, 7/18/2023 at 11am. Memorial reception at Christianson's Nursery & Greenhouse 7/18/2023 at 1230pm.
