IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rosemary
Edwards
April 9, 1933 – September 12, 2024
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Rosemary Von Moos Edwards, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend, on September 12,2024 at the age of 91.
Rosemary was born to Swiss immigrants, Joseph, and Rosalia Von Moos, on April 9, 1933, in Corona, California. When she was 4 months old, her family embarked on a seven-day journey in their Model A Ford to Stanwood, Washington, where they settled as dairy farmers.
Rosemary attended Stanwood High School, where she met David Edwards, the love of her life and future husband of 70 years. The couple married in 1954 and initially made their home in Stanwood. In 1964, they built a house in Marysville, where they raised their four children.
Rosemary proudly embraced her heritage throughout her life, deeply treasuring Swiss traditions. She lovingly passed these customs down to her children and grandchildren through stories of her family's rich history. Her dedication to preserving their legacy included extensive writing and research, tracing her family tree back to the 1500s. Known for her cherished Swiss cookies, she generously shared them with family and friends.
Rosemary was a steadfast presence in her family's lives, with her home serving as the heart of countless gatherings where generations came together to celebrate, share stories, and create lasting memories. She embraced her role as matriarch, finding immense joy in nurturing close ties between her beloved family members in both Switzerland and America.
Rosemary often accompanied Dave on his work-related travels across the US and abroad. She cherished the time she spent with her siblings, especially during visits to Hawaii and Switzerland.
She was deeply devoted to her grandsons and great-grandchildren, always offering unwavering love and support. Whether for graduations, birthdays, weddings, or the simple moments in between, they knew they could always rely on her presence.
She is survived by her children Barbara Larson, Mike Edwards, Nancy (Rick) Brown, Grandchildren, Christopher (Sarah) Larson, Brent (Maddy) Larson, Josh Brown, Great Grandchildren, Ava, Jack, Luke, Maxwell and Annabelle Larson, brother, Walt Von Moos, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David; son, James, grandson, Ryan, parents, Rosalia and Joseph; brothers, Joseph and Paul, sisters Margaret and Gertrude.
A celebration of life Mass for Rosemary will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Mount Vernon, WA. at 12:15 pm on Friday, the 29th of November.
