Obituary

Ronald F. Beams May 28, 1935 – August 29, 2022 Ronn passed away peacefully the evening of May 29th at Providence Hospital in Everett, Washington after a prolonged struggle with respiratory disease and post-polio syndrome. Ronn was born to Mabel (Fry) and Muryl Beams in Spokane Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents, older brother Muryl Beams II, younger sister Sharon Saunders, and granddaughter Haleigh Hinderman. Ronn attended Clear Lake Grade School, Sedro Woolley High School and Western Washington University. Upon graduation he started teaching at Marysville Middle School in 1958. He eventually went on to teach at Marysville High School and Marysville Pilchuck High School. During his time as the MHS Year Book Advisor he developed a photography program, complete with an on-campus dark room where his students learned to develop and print their own work. Ronn taught hundreds of students many of whom pursued photography either professionally or as an enjoyable hobby. He also taught High School English and many of his students will forever remember his "word chunks". Ronn left teaching after 17 years and became a commercial photographer. Over his career he covered sports photography for organizations such as the Seattle Seahawks, Seattle Sounders, and Seattle Supersonics. He was also one of the first photographers to go into the Mount St. Helens crater after it's eruption. After managing retail stores for regional and national chains, Ronn and his wife opened a quilt store on 3 rd Street in Marysville, Fudge and the Funnies. Upon their retirement they sold their shop and retired to Stanwood to be closer to their grandchildren. Ronn continued to pursue his love of photography throughout the rest of his life and shared his passion with countless friends and family over the years. He led a full and amazing life. He will be missed by his wife of 65 years, Jeannette, son Greg Beams (Noelle), daughter Kathy Beams (Jeff Young), grandsons Bryce Hinderman (Victoria), Todd Hinderman (Marielle), granddaughter Sophia Beams, great grandson's Reed and Dane, special brother and sister-in-law Jack and Jaci Turner and the many friends that had the good fortune to know him. In leu of flower the family requests donations be made to N.O.A.H Animal shelters. Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Watch social media for specific date, time and location
