Robert D. Arentzen 86 of Stanwood, died Thursday September 3, 2015. He was born September 9, 1928 in Port Townsend to parents Fred and Lona (Imislund) Arentzen living in Big Lake and then moving to East Stanwood in 1937. He attended local schools, graduating in 1946 from Twin City High School. He served in Korea for 2 years.
In 1953 Robert married Gloria Klett of Cedarhome at Freeborn Lutheran Church. They continued to live in the Stanwood area raising their children, Dana and Michael. He retired from Valley Repair, a tractor implement company in 1991. He enjoyed his hobby of making wooden toys and spending many vacations in Maui, HI, and Mesa, AZ.
Bob is survived by his daughter and son, Dana Arentzen of Stanwood, and Michael Arentzen of Alaska; 2 granddaughters, Allison Gantz and Marline Bello Arentzen; 4 great grandchildren, Christian, Tyler, Matthew, and Chloe Gantz, all of Stanwood. He was preceded in death by his wife Gloria, his parents, and a brother Jerry Arentzen.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, Sept 15, 2015 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Stanwood.
Private family inurnment will be held at the Freeborn Lutheran Cemetery.
