Richard “Rick” Allen Thompson, 71, passed away suddenly on September 27, 2026. He was born December 14, 1954, in Seattle, Washington, the son of Curtis and Yvonne Thompson. Rick lived in Seattle, Sedro-Woolley, and Everett and graduated from Cascade High School in 1973. He was a Husband, Father, Brother and Friend.

Rick devoted more than 45 years to Alpine Commercial Tires and, after semi-retiring, worked part-time at Amazon for the past two years.

Rick was known for his great sense of humor, easygoing nature, generosity, and loyalty. He loved his family and friends and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

A lifelong Mustang enthusiast, Rick especially loved his Roush P-51A Mustang. He enjoyed car shows, cross-country road trips with his Mustang friends, and was a member of the Island Classic Mustang Club for eight years. He also loved traveling to Los Cabos, Mexico, and other warm, sunny destinations.

Rick is survived by his wife of 25 years, Laura Thompson; children Nicole Thompson, John Thompson, Anthony Thompson, Kayla Thompson, and Jessica Nelson; 5 grandchildren ,Ievin, 26; Jerin, 21; Koda, 21; Rylynn, 16; and Adelynn, 15; and brothers Greg and Bruce Thompson; sister Leanne Twigg; and many extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Curtis Thompson, and mother, Yvonne Hawkins.

Rick will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His laughter, friendship, kindness, and the memories shared over the years will remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 25, 2026, from 1:00–3:00 p.m. at the Camano Island Center on Camano Island, Washington. Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate Rick’s life, share memories, and honor the man who meant so much to so many.

Rick, until we meet again, keep the Mustang polished and the road open. I’ll carry your love, your laughter, and our 25 years together in my heart forever.
