Rella Wood Langland

Rella Wood Langland, 95 of Stanwood passed away with her family by her side on March 16, 2016 in
Mount Vernon, WA.
Rella was born to John and Elizabeth Funk in Louisville, Kentucky on October 19, 1920. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Seattle. Soon after graduation, Rella went to work for Frederick and Nelsons where her soon to be mother-in-law, Elizabeth (wood) Garrison Introduced Rella to her son, Gordon Keith Wood in 1946. They were married February 14, 1946.
In 1959 the family moved to Stanwood. Gordy and Rella were active in the Stillaguamish Grange #1058 and leaders of the Stanwood Hope 4's 4-H Club.
Together they had 4 children and were married 25 years before Gordy passed away in 1972.
Rella was a great cook and spent many years as a professional cook until she retired in 1989.
IN 1995 Rella married Ole Langland, whom she met while volunteering at the Stanwood Senior Center. They were very happy and loved to travel until his passing in 1999.
Rella was also active volunteering with the Sno. CO. Dairy Women and could always be seen at all the Fairs.
She was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. Rella enjoyed helping others, putting family and friends first, traveling, playing pinochle and having morning coffee with her friends at Haggens.
Rella was preceded in death by her first husband Gordy Wood and her second husband Ole Langland.
She is survived by her daughter Liz (Bruce) Anderson, sons; Frank (Lisa) Wood, Ken Wood, and Bill Wood, grandchildren; Joey (Dave) Sherman, Willie (Sherrie) Anderson, Jason and Brandon Wood, great grandchildren; Dusty Glenn and Sammy Sherman.
A Celebration of Rella's life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 27201 – 99th Ave N.W. Stanwood, WA 98292.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her behalf can be made to the Stanwood, Senior Center or to the Charity of your choice.
