Obituary

Laurenz Von Moos
??October 2nd, 1931 - February 24th, 2017???
Paul Laurenz Von Moos passed away peacefully on February 24th, 2017. Born on October 2nd, 1931 in Corona, California, Paul was the second of six children born to Joseph and Rosalie Von Moos, Swiss immigrant dairy farmers. He moved to Stanwood with his family in 1933.
Paul attended East Stanwood Schools and graduated from Twin City High in 1949. He worked on his family's dairy farm, served in the United States Army, and was active with the Stanwood Eagles and the Swiss Sportsman Club. Paul proudly served three times as Commander of the Stanwood Legion Post #92. He volunteered to place flags at the graves of Veterans every Memorial Day and donated 102 units of blood.
Paul worked as a foreman for Texmo/Alvord Richardson Construction Company for over 40 years. His work ethic and attention to detail was second to none. He was proud to point out his many buildings constructed throughout the Pacific Northwest over the years.
??Proud of his Swiss heritage, he traveled with Meg and family many times to Switzerland to visit relatives. He took great pride in sharing his Swiss roots with all who would lend a listening ear. Above all, Paul valued time with his family and friends, crabbing, clam digging, smelt raking and visiting with those that he shared his catch with. He loved attending the grandchildren's sporting events and spending quality time with each of them. He was generous, caring, kind, and a loving friend, husband, father, brother, uncle, grandparent and great-grandparent. ??
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Meg, children Pam Fugier (Cliff), Brian Von Moos (Keri), Marita Von Moos-Coberly, step children Jennifer Matheson (Tom), Janet Miller-Gaines (Gary), Julie Zadeh (Majid), ten grandchildren (Alyssa, Matt, Jenna, Nicky, Graham, Kamron, Krista, Kevon, Jerilyn, Kaitlyn), seven great-grandchildren, sisters Rosemary Edwards (Dave), Gertrude Cunningham and brother Walter Von Moos, as well as many extended family members and his beloved cat, Lorenzo. He was preceded in death by his brother Joe Von Moos, sister Margaret Campbell and parents.
??Our family extends our deepest gratitude to the staff at Brookdale Assisted Living and Mira Vista Skilled Nursing for the loving care they provided. ??
