Obituary

Patty Brovold-Carlyle
December 9, 1947 - May 18, 2013

Patty Brovold-Carlyle, 65, passed awaySaturday morning after a 10 year plus battle with Alzheimer's. She grew up in the Edmonds/Everett area where she lived throughout her whole life, graduating from Cascade High School in 1966.

She is survived by her husband, Tom Carlyle, her children Heather Burgess, Shannon Brovold-Olson, Jenifer Phillips; step-children Chris Carlyle, Heather Barrera; and grandchildren: Ashlyn, Collin, Kevin, Elias, Levi, Gabriel, Peter, and Isabel. She was preceded in death by her mom and dad, Bernice and Norman Brovold, and grandson Cameron Burgess.

Patty had a lifelong love of being outdoors, family, and all of the holidays throughout the year (especially decorating and entertaining).

She was a talented and accomplished seamstress, making countless costumes, bedding, and dresses for her herself and her daughters throughout the years.

She was a fanatic of the British Invasion of the 60's, but most importantly a HUGE part of Beatlemania. She was a fan club president of one of the local NW chapters.

She was a fan of Mariners baseball, Everett Aquasox and Everett Silvertips and enjoyed attending games with her husband, Tom, and grandchildren. She thoroughly enjoyed concerts at Chateau Ste. Michelle, the 5th Avenue and Village Theatre. She always was ready for a trip to Leavenworth.

In her early 40's, she decided to go back to school and earned a medical assisting degree from Edmonds Community College. She received a job at Group Health that she maintained for many years until she got ill.

In the last two years of her life, she received loving care from Nick and Howie from Bright Adult Family Home in Lynnwood, WA.

Most of all, Patty was always accepting of all people with open arms, and a warm heart. She made people feel like family immediately. Patty loved to be around her kids and family (and her "people"), and please everyone in her life.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimer's Association Northwest Chapter in memory of Patty Brovold-Carlyle.
