P.Lynne Federspiel 79 of Stanwood, WA died , Saturday, April 16, 2016.
Lynne was born to Patrick Joseph O'Neill and Annette Tudor O'Neill on December 2, 1936 in Seattle, WA. She grew up in North Seattle area and attended Blessed Sacrament and Holy Names. She graduated from Seattle University in 1958 with her teaching degree and taught for a few years at Viewridge Elementary in Seattle.
She met Alen Federspiel while skiing at Big Mountain in Montana in 1960. They were married June 17, 1961. Lynne convinced Alen to go back to school and get his degree in civil engineering from the University of Washington. During this time they started their family in Ballard until it grew too large and moved to Bellevue in 1965. After raising their family in Bellevue they moved to Kirkland, Belfair and eventually ended in their current home of Stanwood.
Lynne was instrumental in maintaining and growing her ever ending group of friends and loved ones some from as long ago as kindergarten. Lynne was the type when she asked how are you doing, she really meant it. She had a myriad of friends including those from Holy Names, skiers from Stevens, the Bauer Babes, bridge club, athletic club, tap dancers, culinary group, and the Camano Senior Center. She had a close relationship with many of her cousins.
Upon retirement Al and Lynne travelled extensively including trips skiing in Europe and travel to China, New Zealand, Australia, Netherlands, Ukraine as well as and visiting family in Denmark. On one of her trips, Lynne discovered the church in Sweden where her great grandparents had been married.
Lynne was known for her incredible pies, pastries and other desserts. She enjoyed cooking and competing with the Culinary Arts Society.
Lynne was preceded in death by her daughter Kirsten, parents and numerous aunts and uncles. She is survived by her loving husband, Alen; son Paul of Marysville, son Pat and daughter-in-law Chanel of Bellevue and their children Clayton, Tennyson and Tea; daughter Gretchen Federspiel Magnuson and son-in-law Eric and their children Gunnar, Stryker, Ryder; son Peter and daughter-in-law Cara and their children Braeden and Grayce; and daughter Suzanne Federspiel Caldwell and son-in-law Eric and their son Garett. She is also survived by her sisters Kay Wood and Teresa Hill (Bill) and brother Michael O'Neill (Linda).

Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday May 21, 2016 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 26900 - 78th Ave NW Stanwood, WA 98292
