Obituary

On Monday, August 27, 2018, Orville Hanson, passed away at the age of 91, surrounded by his family.

Orville was born November 18, 1926 in Everett WA to Norwegian immigrants Albert and Nikkoline Hanson. He grew up in East Sunnyside and attended Lake Stevens High School. Orville enlisted in the Army and was a military policeman stationed at Wakeman General Hospital in Indiana.

On July 24, 1949 he married the love of his life, Esther Mjoen. They were blessed with three children, Patty (Joe) Linduska, Nick (Sharon) Hanson and Karen (Rob) Buchanan.

Orville was a self-employed house painter for most of his life. He was a past member of the Stanwood Volunteer Fire Department, the Stanwood Lion's Club and a current member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church.

He was known for his humor, his infectious belly laugh and his devotion to his family, friends and God.

He is survived by his wife Esther, his three children Patty, Nick and Karen, his grandchildren Emily, Tristan, Jason, Erik, Andrew and Abby, his great grandchildren Poppy, Bodin, Bridger, Paige and Elliott.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday September 8, 2018 at Anderson Cemetery in Stanwood. A reception and luncheon will follow in the fellowship hall at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Stanwood.
