Myrna Joan Moore Corcoran passed away on October 5, 2024. She was a devoted wife, partner, mother, and friend. She had a passion for people, and she will be missed by all who knew her.
Myrna is survived by her long term partner Paul Savoie, and by her children Mark and Chawiwan, Kevin and Doni, Brian and Susan, and Tara and Steve; eight Grandchildren Tommy, Lauren, Connor, Sean, Brennan, Karsen, Katie and Ford as well as five Great Grandchildren Fiona, Finnegan, Francesca, Isla and Kira. Myrna was preceded in death by her husband Thomas J. Corcoran, Jr. and her parents Robert Lee and Hanna K Hens Moore; and her brother and sister in law Richard and Marilyn and sister Helen.
Myrna was born on January 4, 1936 in Walla Walla Washington. She graduated from Walla Walla high school, then pursued a degree from Sacred Heart School of Nursing in Spokane Washington and became a Registered Nurse. After a short time nursing, Myrna met her husband on a blind date. Myrna and Thomas were married August 4th 1957. They settled in Orono Maine. Myrna took time off from her career to raise her family, after which she returned to the nursing profession to work for the Red Cross and to teach nursing students.
Myrna enjoyed traveling throughout the world. Myrna and family were fortunate to live in Maine, as well as short tenures in West Lafayette, IN, Helsinki Finland, Heelsum Netherlands, Madrid Spain and Christ Church New Zealand.
After the passing of her husband Thomas, Myrna met her life partner Paul Savoie in 1998. They happily lived in Orono Maine, Ramona California and on Camano Island Washington.
Myrna was a gifted quilter, seamstress, baker, cook, bridge player, volunteer, gardener and valued member of the local community center.
Please join us in celebrating the life of Myrna, a wonderful woman who will be missed by everyone who knew her. And as she reminded her children often, there have to be rules and her rule for today is that everyone celebrates a life well lived.
Friends of Myrna are welcome to join in a celebration of life 11am - 1 pm, Saturday, November 2nd at the Camano Center 606 Arrowhead Rd Camano 98282
