Montie O. Barchus passed Saturday the 10th of December at Life Care of Skagit Valley in Sedro-Woolley, WA.
Born in 1940 in Jacksonville Texas to the late Frank Smith and Lois Smith (Sides). Montie married Willis L. Barchus in 1958 and had two Children, Terry L. Barchus and Lisa M. Barchus (Kerr).
Montie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to cook, socialize and enjoyed gardening. She had a special soft spot for animals and pampered her dogs and spent an endless amount of energy raising and nurturing her exotic baby birds. Sometimes Montie would sell the birds, but most of the time she kept them because she loved them all so much. Montie had a cleaver sense of humor and brought a lot of joy and laughter to our hearts. She was 76 when she passed away from Parkinson's. It's hard to say goodbye. We wish that so much of her life had not been lost to her illness, that things could have been different for her, and for us. While we know that she is at peace and that her struggles are at an end, there is pain and sadness. But even though she is gone, she has left the legacy of her love and perseverance. The ways she touched our lives will remain, and I ask you to keep those memories alive by sharing them with me and with one another.
Montie is survived by husband Willis L. Barchus, children Terry L. Barchus and Lisa M. Barchus (Kerr), grandchildren Bryan Z. Kerr and Austin R. Kerr as well as her first great grandchild Layla Grace Kerr and many other relatives and friends.
Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 17th at Cedarhome Baptist Church in Stanwood, WA.
