Michael John Milchem, 69 of Camano Island, passed away peacefully with his family by his side after a long hard fought battle with cancer. He was a devoted father and husband.
He completed his earthly journey on September 28, 2010 and is now free from his pain.
Mike was born in Karachi in 1941 and at age twelve traveled to England to attend grammar school. His life-long career in the insurance industry began with Lloyds of London. Mike relocated to Canada in 1966, and after working in the insurance industry in Vancouver, British Columbia, and Minnesota, his career culminated with thirty years of service with Crump Insurance Services. Mike loved being in the company of his family and friends and his favorite pastime was spent on the water trying to catch the elusive big fish. Mike is preceded in death by his father Jack and leaves behind his wife of forty-three years, Maureen, daughter Michaela (Robert Newby), mother Eve Tracey of London, sisters Cheryl Wallman and Jennifer Shepard (Frank) England, brother Dan Milchem, Australia, and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Saint Vincent de Paul Society c/o St Cecilia Catholic Church. A funeral Mass will be held 11:00 A.M., Thursday, October 7, 2010 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Stanwood.
