Merrilee Glancy (Foret) age 83 of Stanwood, Wa. passed away peacefully on March 12th, 2016. She was born on July 20th, 1932 in New Orleans to Angel and Wallis Foret. Merrilee met Donald Glancy in Biloxi Mississippi while Don was in the Air Force. They later married on January 7th, 1956 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Merrilee was passionate about her faith and was very active in her church. She loved being a part of the church as evident by all the different roles she volunteered for over the years (Eucharistic minister, CCD teacher, Choir, readings for mass, post mass receptions, just to mention a few). Merrilee was also a very talented and creative person winning many awards at local fairs. She had many hobbies that she could express these creative talents with (painting, stained glass, photography, sewing, and quilting).
Merrilee is survived by her husband Donald Glancy, brother Gene Foret, sister Linda (Gloria) Foret, brother and sister in-law Chris and Mary Grace Foret, daughter Tami Glancy, son and daughter in-law David and Cindy Glancy, son and daughter in-law Robert and Theresa Glancy, daughter and son in-law Shannon and Stan O'Neil, grandchildren Jennifer Reynolds and her husband John, grandchildren Kevin O'Neil and his wife Cassie, grandchildren Christina Glancy, Josh Glancy, Patrick O'Neil, Megan Glancy and Lauren Glancy, great grandchildren Liam, Abel, Holden, Cooper, Zachary and Wesley.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. Cecilia Parish 26900 78th Ave NW in Stanwood Wa. by Father Paul Koenig. A graveside services will follow at Anderson Cemetery in 7630 Pioneer Hwy Stanwood. There will be a reception after the funeral and graveside service at St. Cecilia. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Merrilee's life.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Cure Alzheimer's Fund in memory of Merrilee.
