Martha C. Anderson, age 94 of Stanwood passed away peacefully October 4th. She was born April 25th 1920 to James and Thilda Pearson in White Earth N. Dakota. At age 6 she and her family moved out to Washington in search of a better life. In 1940 she married Harold Anderson and together they raised two sons. Martha was a hard worker, devoted mother, a great cook and gardener. Martha moved to the Lincoln School Senior Apartments in 2006 and made many new friends there. Since suffering a stroke 3 years ago she has been residing at Abundant Living, Arlington.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband Harold, son Allan and all 6 of her brothers, Bill, Jim, Carl, Thor, Ed and John Pearson. She leaves behind son John (Vicki) Anderson and daughter-in-law Priscilla Anderson, 5 granddaughters, Cindy (Steve) Sundberg, Kirsten (Steve) Winter, Tina (Andrew) Gomes, Brenda (Dan) Woodall, Shelly Anderson and 7 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends.
At Martha's request there will be no services. A private burial will take place at a later date. A coffee hour to celebrate Martha's life will be held in the Lincoln School Senior Apartments upstairs social room on Sunday October 12 from 2 – 4 pm.
Our family wishes to thank Abundant Living's caregivers for the loving care Martha has received these last 3 years and also the compassionate staff from Hospice Northwest. Memorials in Martha's honor would be appreciated for Hospice Northwest or to the Stanwood Community & Senior Center Endowment Fund.
