Mark adopted Karen's son Justin, making a new family of 5.  Mark and Karen welcomed their second son Joseph on August 24, 1993 and in 2004 they adopted a little 6-year-old girl they named Jacqueline to the family.  Through the years welcomed a granddaughter named Kimberly in 1998, a grandson Aidan in 2001, a grandson Cameron in 2004, a grandson Zander in 2011 and shortly before his death they welcomed a grandson TJ. Mark dearly loved all his children and grandchildren, as his grandson Cameron would say, "to infinity and beyond".

Mark had many interests including music, guitar, banjo, golf, and going to concerts. He saw many concerts, including Paul Simon with daughter Amanda, Paul McCartney with his daughter Melinda in 1990, with his son Joseph in 2010. And Mark met with many artists including Chet Atkins, the group Exile, Vince Gill, Juice Newton, and the Oak Ridge Boys, to name a few.  Mark loved celebrating holidays with his family. He went all out for his family at Christmas time and on their birthdays. His favorite shows were The Three Stooges, Westerns, This Old House, Svengoolie on Saturday nights, and Ancient Aliens.  A couple of his favorite movies were Christmas vacation and The Christmas Story.

Mark lost his battle to brain cancer on December 23, 2020. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  He was a wonderful and generous Christian man who would go out of his way to make you feel welcomed and loved. He was a big, strong man with a big heart whom we all looked up to. He was taken from us too soon and is an angel in Heaven now to watch over us all. There is a big hole in our lives now that he is gone. We all love you and miss you Mark more than words can say.

In Lieu of flowers or other gifts, please consider remembering Mark by donating to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. This was Mark's favorite foundation.

Because of COVID-19 restrictions a small family member only service is being held on February 6, 2020.  Following the service there will be a celebration of life at Mark and Karen's home. Once restrictions have been resolved all are welcome to visit and reminisce about the wonderful times we had with Mark.
