IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marion Louise
Erickson
June 8, 1936 – March 31, 2025
Marion Louise Erickson, a devoted woman of faith, a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend, passed away on March 31, 2025. She faced life's challenges with grace and resilience, including her battle against breast cancer, emerging stronger in her faith and love for others.
Marion worked in the insurance field for many years while the girls were in school. She transitioned to bookkeeping in 1990 for a local farm grower and worked until her early 70s. For over twenty-five years she was a Sunday School teacher at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Whatcom County. When she and Gordon moved to Camano Island from Everson, she became an active member of Camano Lutheran Church, serving as women's ELCA president and as a Thrivent committee member. She was proud of her work with Lutheran World Relief, helping sew over 400 quilts a year for the LWR efforts around the world. She also was a force in assembling school and health kits which were distributed to communities in need.
Marion was born in 1936 to Roberta (Bobbie) Williams and Luther Williams in Mt. Vernon, Washington, the first of six children. She grew up in Steilacoom and Snohomish, graduating from Snohomish High School in 1953. She married Gordon Luverne Erickson on February 11, 1955. They had three girls, Deb (Ken Bailey), Karen (Ken Williams), and Susan (Bruce Ogren). Marion is survived by her three daughters and four grandchildren (Michael, Allison, Kate, and Gabe), brothers and sister (Newell, Russell, and Shirley) sisters-in-law and brother-in-law (Ellen, Diana, and Ted) and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gordon; parents Luther and Bobbi Williams; and sisters Phyllis and Marilyn.
Marion's life will continue to be a legacy of faith and service to others that remains an inspiration to all who knew her. Though she will be deeply missed, she will live on in the countless lives she touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 5th at 11 AM at Camano Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Camano Lutheran Church or a favorite charity in her honor.
