IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margaret Elaine
Berg
July 24, 1934 – May 10, 2025
Margaret "Margie" Elaine Berg, age 90, of Marysville, Washington, peacefully went home to be with our Heavenly Father on May 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on July 24, 1934, in Chehalis, Washington, Margie was the youngest of five children born to Dr. Milton and Margaret Yahn. She grew up in the small town of Winlock, where her father served as both the mayor and the town's only dentist. Margie cherished her childhood alongside her siblings—brothers Milton Jr., Bob, and Dick, and her sister Marilyn, all of whom preceded her in death.
A proud graduate of Winlock High School, Class of 1954, Margie continued her education at Central Washington College in Ellensburg. After college, she moved to Seattle, where she worked at Children's Hospital as a "candy striper," a role she loved deeply—especially for the joy it brought her to work with children.
Though she came from a small town, Margie fell head over heels for a city boy from Seattle—Jerry Berg. They were married on March 8, 1958, and shared 58 beautiful years together until his passing in 2017. Margie always said Jerry was the "love of her life."
Her greatest joy came from her family. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Margie poured her heart into raising her four children and cherished the time spent with her 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, with one more great-grandchild arriving in August. She was selfless, loving unconditionally and always placing others before herself. Her humor, warmth, and nurturing spirit were constants in her family's life.
Whether making mashed potatoes and pancakes for her grandchildren during sleepovers, or enjoying family holidays and gatherings at the family farm, Margie created memories that will live on forever in our hearts. She loved animals—especially her beloved dog, Jewelz, who was always by her side.
Margie and Jerry shared many wonderful adventures together, taking trips to California, Reno, Las Vegas, Oregon, and Hawaii, as well as camping trips to Ocean Shores. She also treasured returning to Winlock to visit family and relive cherished memories.
Margie is survived by her loving children: Jody (Greg), Jerry Jr. (Mary), Heidi (Jeff), and Lori; her grandchildren: Haley, Lauren, Ana, Theresa, Jessica, Jerry III, Emily, Senna, Easton, Logan, Jack, Austin, and Alyx; and her great-grandchildren: Savannah, Cassidy, and a baby boy due in August. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Dorie Yahn; nieces Kathy and Becky; and nephews Bob, Chris, and Andy.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jerry, her parents, Dr. Milton and Margaret Yahn; her siblings Milton Jr., Bob, Dick, and Marilyn.
We were blessed beyond words to have her in our lives. Her love, laughter, and legacy will remain with us always. We miss her deeply and love her endlessly.
"Family is everything."
Until we're together again.
