Obituary

Lois June Sharpe, passed on Sunday, August 5, 2018 after a FUN filled and very happy life. Born Lois June Yager, on May 30, 1926 in Peoria,IL, she was the only child of Wilber and Lillian (Bower) Yager.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack Sharpe in 2009, and their beloved daughter, Stacey Lynne' Mary Sharpe and her grandson, Matthew Patrick Sharpe.  Lois and Jack met in Sunday school as children and married in 1949 a few years after Jack's return from the Pacific Campaign during WWII. Lois attended Bradley College.  Lois is survived by her two sons, Gregg Sharpe, Kim Sharpe, their wives, Terri Sharpe and Patti Sharpe, her two grandchildren, Rebecca Berry (Douglas Ryan) and Jack Smith.  Lois is also survived by great grandchildren Lyric Ailshire, Ethan Sharpe, Hope Grawitch, Merit Grawitch, Jade Westmoreland, Aanya Sharpe, Easton Berry and Major Berry.  Lois and Jack owned property on Camano Island since 1974, which was used as a weekend getaway with the family.  Before moving to Camano permanently, they were residents of Woodinville, WA.  She and Jack were energetic staples in the communities of Camano Island and Stanwood upon moving to the Island.  Lois was a lifetime member of the Woodinville Heritage Society, serving as President for 5 years.  She was also a lifetime member of of the Stanwood Historical Societyand Charter member of the Camano Island Quilters, Elks Emblem Club #444and Charter President of the Camano Island Lion's club in 1977. Lois and Jack were Charter, Lifetime members of the Camano Island Yacht Club. When not engaged with her local Red Hat sisters, Lois was raising funds for the local information center on Camano Island and led the fund raising efforts for a Red Hat Calendar Girls Calendar for the local fire department.  Along with Jack, Lois brought attention to the lack of fire equipment in Mazatlan, Mexico ultimately raising enough money for a fire truck and other much needed equipment.  A long time member of Lion's Club International, she took charge bringing long overdue reading glasses to communities in need. Lois was an ardent supporter of local artists and was quite the artist herself. A memorial service for Lois will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at St. Cecelia's Catholic Church at 11:00 AM in Stanwood, WA. The family requests that in lieu of flowers please support via donation to our Camano Island Fire and Rescue. Finally, Lois wanted everyone to remember that "If it ain't FUN, it won't get DUN"  Only Lois.
