Lisa Hegland, Born Jan 1st 1958 in Ketchikan, AK

Moved to Bakersfield, CA with her mother when she was a teenager and attended North High School. Lisa met and married Chuck Hegland, of Bakersfield, in January of 1976.

Lisa Graduated North High School later that year in June 1976 and the true journey began.

She had two children, Ryan in 1982 and Danielle in 1984. She was very active with Ryan and Danielle in the schools they attended and the numerous sports they played. In 1990 she designed their 1st home in Bakersfield. Being the thinker in the family she became an author and published "Notes from Home", followed by several more over the coming years.

In the fall of 2002 she designed their second home on an island in Washington and the second part of the journey began. She owned a pet/equestrian business with online sales and merchandise in Cooper & Katie of Stanwood, as well as Camano Island Coffee Roasters and Elgar Bay. Lisa was also a member of the Camano Island Chamber of Commerce. In 2014 she was featured at Women in the Pet Industry Conference for innovations in Pet/Equestrian Industry. In June of 2014 her 1st grandchild born, in Aug of 2015 she gained a son-in-law and another grandchild. In Sept of 2016 her 3rd grandchild was born. She loved all of her kids and grandkids without bounds. She passed peacefully at home in December 2020.

Lisa loved living near the water and traveling near and far. She took her children anywhere their feet or vehicle would take them. She was an avid reader and loved to teach and pass along the wealth of knowledge she had. She was an amazing cook, quilter and homemaker. She was a published author, architectural draftsman, accomplished business owner, entrepreneur, photographer, and beautician and excelled at being a wife and mother. She loved her family endlessly and found great value in her abundance of friendships throughout the course of her years.

Lisa was preceded in death by her father, Walter James Hinman, and her mother, Jacqueline Thompson. She is survived by her husband, Chuck Hegland, son; Ryan Hegland, daughter; Danielle Burrill, son in law; James Burrill, grandchildren; Harrison, Olivia, and Penelope.
