Leo E. Wirth
1916-2009

Leo E. Wirth, 93, passed away on Sept.22, 2009. Leo was born in Wisconsin July 6, 1916.

He joined the army in 1942. His battles and campaigns included, The Landing of Normandy, Northern France and Rhineland. He was awarded The American Campaign Medal, The European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, The Good Conduct Medal, The Victory Medal and The Bronze Star Medal.

Leo lived and worked on Camano Island in the 1960's as a realtor/broker. He really enjoyed showing properties to people when the Island was still a fairly small community. He moved to the Seattle/Puyallup area where he then retired from the retail sales industry. Leo moved back to Stanwood in 2008 where he lived at the Lincoln School Senior Apartments. He very much enjoyed socializing with all of the wonderful friends he had made while he was there.

Some of the things he loved in life were gardening, fishing, boating, card games and playing pool. He enjoyed life everyday filled with family and friends.

He leaves behind many friends and family members that include his children, step children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We will always hold our memories of him deep within our hearts.

No services are planned at this time. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.

One thought I remembered as a little girl

Was my Daddy dancing with me

Standing on his shoe tops as light as can be

I was always thinking of how hard it would be

Until he gave me that look

Then he'd wink at me

He made it so easy to slide across the floor

because he was guiding me

That man I adored

I will miss you forever, always and more

That little girl

That danced across the floor
