Lavon M. Chapin Black passed on September 24, 2022, peacefully at Brookdale facility where she had spent the last 16 months. She was born in Seattle on July 5 th , 1934, and graduated Lincoln High School. She married Ray Muffley, a Seattle police officer and POW in WWII. Her father Paul Chapin built a log summer home at Warm Beach. She loved Warm Beach and eventually made it her home, where she lived most of her adult life along with time spent at her vacation home on Maui, with her "Ohana" family. Lavon worked as an Executive Assistant at the Everett Gold and Country Club, where she met her husband Eddie Black Sr., who preceded her in death in 1974. Lavon leaves behind five children; Pamela Fousha (son in law Ronald Fousha), Michael Black (Daughter in law Mini Black), Eddie Jr. Black, Diane, and Brad Cookson, nine grandchildren; Tammy, Tia, Alicia, Zane (& wife Rachele), Brandy, Makaela, Chase, Raney, and Pierce, and ten great grandchildren; Colleen, Enrique, Isabella, Austin, Jayden, Kai, Elle Jay, Steinar, Jet, and Scarlett. There will be a small family gathering in her honor (per her wishes) next year sometime for her celebration of life here as well as on Maui.
