Obituary

Kristine (Eva) Rouse Olson was born in Seattle, Washington, on August 7, 1941 and peacefully passed on January 17, 2022 in Duvall, Washington. She lived a long and happy 80 years focused on God and her family. She married Eugene E. Olson (Gene) on March 21, 1964 and they enjoyed many years together until his passing on January 29, 2003. Kristine went to college at the University of Washington for two years before transferring to Seattle Pacific, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and History and achieved a teaching credential. Twenty-five years later, Kristine went back to school for a Master of Science in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling at California State University Bakersfield. Kristine and Gene raised three children, Eric, Kirsten and Kajsa. Gene's career as a Chemical Engineer for Shell Oil had them on the move, living in California, Texas, and Colorado. Kristine moved back home to Washington state after Gene passed in 2003, and settled in Duvall, WA. This move brought her closer to two of her children and four of her grandchildren. Eric married Marianne Everham and had Ethan (21) and Willow (18) and Kajsa has two daughters, Karen (23) and Natalie (16). Kirsten married Matthew Johnston, lives in California, and has two children Melissa (22) and Nathan (19). Kristine is also survived by her brother Glenn Rouse and her sister Kathy Rouse Harvey. Her family will miss her deeply and appreciates her steadfast love over the years. Kristine Olson was an intelligent and strong woman for herself, her family and God. In Kristine's younger years, she enjoyed gardening and various crafts. She was an active reader, preferring historical fiction books and television shows. Kristine enjoyed belonging to a close group of women who graduated in the Class of 1959 from Queen Anne High School. Kristine and Gene were active members of the Lutheran Church in every city where they resided. A Public memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday April 22, 2022 at the Camano Lutheran Church, Camano Island, WA. and a private family inurnment service was held at the Camano Lutheran Cemetery.
