Obituary

Kenneth (Ken) Alan Moa, age 76 of Everett, WA, passed away on December 23, 2020 at the Sunnyside Adult Family Care Home. His amazing caregivers, Joyce and John, were with him when he passed. Ken had been a resident of Sunnyside since 2010 and prior to that lived in Sultan, WA for many years.

Ken was born on June 13, 1944 at Rowley Hospital in Mt. Vernon, WA to Robert Moa and Johanna Aalpoel. He is the second of four children and had one older brother, Wally Moa, and two younger sisters, Vicki Potts and Janet Moa. Both Wally and Janet predeceased Ken. Ken attended schools in Stanwood, WA and graduated from Twin City High School in 1962. After high school, Ken joined the United States Coast Guard and served as Radioman Second Class from 1964 to 1968 when he was Honorably Discharged.

Ken loved to build things with his hands, loved the outdoors and learning about birds and plant life. He was a 'people' person and would drive to see someone before he would pick up the phone as he like to be with people. He was a happy person and is well known for a huge smile on his face.

Ken is survived by his three sons, Christopher, Eric and Carl Moa, and by his sister Vicki Potts and her husband Gene. He also is survived by his Uncle Herb Aalpoel who, even though he lived back east, would come to Washington at least once a year to visit with Ken. Thank you Uncle Herb!
