Obituary

KENNETH DEAN GUNERIUS was born December 8, 1935 and passed away on September 13, 2017 at the age of 81 from injuries received in a motorcycle accident. Ken had just spent several days in Stanwood visiting his children and in Montana visiting his sister.

Ken served in the Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Puerto Rico where his fondest memory was being in the movie "The Proud and the Profane" starring Debora Kerr. Ken loved to ride his Can-Am Spyder both on his own and with his riding group, The Mystery Riders, in Arizona. He leaves behind the memory of "Ken the Barber" after thirty-plus years operating Ken's Modern Barber Shop which he opened in 1966. Ken loved golf, karaoke, the Arizona sun, his friends in Arizona and Stanwood, and his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents Alvera and Clarence Gunerius, two brothers Dale & Roger Gunerius, and his wife Judith. Ken leaves behind his children Cathrine and Kim Tonheim, Steven and Rita Gunerius, and Kristi Gunerius as well as four grandchildren Amanda, Damon, Corinne and Joel, and six great grandchildren. Ken also leaves his only remaining sibling, Lynda and her husband Bill Johnson.
