Obituary

On November 13, 1947 in Tacoma Washington, a new light shined into this world when Richard and Sheila O'Larey welcomed their baby daughter Kathleen Marie O'Larey.   They would later complete their family with her twin brothers Michael and Patrick O'Larey.

As a lifetime resident of the state of Washington, Kathleen spent her childhood in Tacoma, Washington where she graduated from St. Leo's High School in 1966.   It is in this city, in February 1968, at a small drive-in restaurant on 6 th Ave where she crossed paths with Donald Redd, the man who would be forever by her side.   In August of 1968 they married and began their life together.

Kathleen would always claim that her greatest accomplishments were her three children; twins Tommy and Tami, and Teresa, the little sister.   Anyone who was near Kathleen could see her pride bursting whenever she was together with her kids (this was doubly true with her grandchildren).   After staying home with the kids until their late teens, Kathleen started her career with Safeway where she worked many years and they were sad to see her retire.   Once retired, she and Donald built a brand new house in Ocean Shores, Washington.

Kathleen had many hobbies including quilting, crocheting, sewing, reading and listening to audio books, but her favorite thing to do was gardening. Kathleen could spend hours tending to her beautiful garden which she loved so much. And if she was not gardening, she was spending time with her pets Flynn and Clancy, or combing the beach, taking road trips across the mountains, and just 'smelling the roses'.

Kathleen is preceded in death by her father Richard O'Larey and her mother Sheila O'Larey.   She is survived by her husband and soul mate Donald Redd, her children Thomas Redd, Tami Harris, Teresa Redd, daughter in-law Maria Redd (wife of Thomas), and son in-laws Tyrone Harris (husband of Tami), and Edmund Smith (husband of Teresa) along with her siblings Michael O'Larey, Patrick O'Larey and her Aunt Colleen.     In addition, Kathleen leaves behind her grandchildren, Caroline Boncan, Cameron Harris, Jacob Redd, Kathleen Rose Smith, great-grand daughter Isabelle and her pets Clancy and Flynn as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
