Karen Leslie Galvez, age 74, of Camano Island, passed away on June 1, 2024 in Stanwood, WA.
Karen was raised in Tustin, California, and attended all schools there. She moved to Roseville, CA in 1986 and settled there. Karen met Alfred Galvez in 1998 in Roseville, where they started a business. Eventually, they moved to Twin Falls, ID and after 5 years moved to Bellingham, WA and eventually settling on Camano Island, WA.
Karen was a business person. She started a businesses in several different states California, Idaho, and Washington called Karen's Errands Transport Service. She was a big animal lover and adopted our pets from animal rescues. She had a big heart for animals. Karen also loved to travel.
Karen and Alfred made many friends on Camano Island by volunteering for medical rides with the Senior Center for the last 7 to 8 years.
Karen is survived by her husband, Alfred, brother; Bill Nisson and his son Brandon of Newport Beach, CA, nephews; Troy and Mark Felix, niece; Jennie Orta, cousin; Linda Felix from Santa Barbara, CA. She is preceded in death by her parents Richard Nisson and Virginia Carson of Tustin, CA.
A viewing will be held for Karen at Gilbertson Funeral Home in Stanwood on Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 10am to 130pm. A graveside service will be held following the viewing at 2pm at Camano Lutheran Cemetery on Camano Island, WA.
Karen would appreciate it if her friends would make donations and support animal shelters and animal rescues. Alfred would like to thank Island County Sheriff Bill Vaughn and the County Chaplain Anna for spending time with him.
