IN LOVING MEMORY OF
June Arlene
Murphy
September 4, 1931 – April 17, 2024
June Arlene Murphy, 92, got her wings on April 17, 2024.
June was born on September 4, 1931 in Norman, WA to Olaf and Minnie Madsen where she joined her eleven siblings. She spent her youth playing and exploring the Stillaguamish Valley with her siblings. She was a proud lifelong Stanwood resident. In 1950, she welcomed her first son Will followed by son Jack in 1952. In 1964, her son Tim was born. She moved to Cedarhome in 1966 and she worked at Twin City Foods for 54 years. In retirement, she enjoyed Monday Manias at the Skagit Casino, watching the Seattle Mariners, and cutting her yard at her property in Cedarhome.
June found brightness in life's simple pleasures. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, independence, unwavering loyalty, and larger-than-life stories. Her family finds solace in the thought of the beautiful chaos that surrounds the heavenly Madsen family table as June walks in to join them. And until we join them ourselves, she will be deeply missed. As the Lord guides her through green pastures, we trust June will mow them as well.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ray, and eleven siblings. She is survived by sons: Will Freberg (Christina), Jack Freberg (Joan), Tim Murphy (Tammy), eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will have a Celebration of Life on August 24, 2024 between 1-3pm at Tim & Tammy's place (28002 68th Ave NW) in Stanwood, WA.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Stanwood Food Bank.
