Obituary

Judy Wallace, 86, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 8, 2025. Her last words were somewhat muffled, but "Mark Harmon" came up repeatedly, as did "that wasn't me, it was the dog."

It is believed that Mr. Harmon's exit from NCIS is what ultimately led to Judy's declining health and ultimate passing.

Judith (Judy) Anne Wayerski was born on February 12, 1939. She graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1957. She was married on November 25, 1961, to Gerald (Jerry) Wallace. They lived in Seattle until 1975 when they decided their family's Warm Beach summer home would become their year-round home.

Raising three children who more-or-less turned out to be upstanding contributors to society was no easy task. While it's easy to remember the effort put in during the holidays or on special occasions, it was the everyday tasks Judy did that made her such a good wife and mother. It was no small mission to feed a family of five on a budget, maintain a home, and keep track of three children who were always going in three different directions. From skinned knees to emergency room visits, from meetings with principals to attending her children's sporting events, Judy was always there for her kids. She was always loved and appreciated, even if such sentiments weren't verbalized nearly enough.

In her final years Judy enjoyed the simple pleasures like a hot cappuccino or latte, smoking a cigarette while watching the tide come in or out, and rolling her eyes at off-color jokes her children openly made in her presence since they were now "grown up." Judy was also a fan of the Seattle Mariners and Seattle Seahawks and would have been happy the 'Hawks acquired Cooper Kupp, once her son reminded her who he was.

Judy's friends and family will miss her smile, her laugh, her humor, and her clam dip (the recipe of which she said she'd take to her grave). She will be remembered as a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a great grandmother, a friend, and a neighbor.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard, and Gladys Wayerski, to whom she was the self-proclaimed "favorite child" of five. Also preceding her in death was her older sister, Joyce Blessin, husband Jerry Wallace, and great-grandson baby Aiden Alvarado. She leaves behind three children: Cyndi Wallace, Kathy Carman (married to Keith), and Greg Wallace; three grandchildren: Kalicia Alvarado (married to Brandon), Marissa Noyes and Brittany Carman; five great-grandchildren: Amberlynn, Ashelynn, Arianna, Adli and Cameron; two sisters: Jan Simon and Jeanne Wayerski; and one brother: Jack Wayerski.

There will not be a memorial service, though her family will have a barbeque in her honor this summer.

Finally, here is her clam dip recipe, as mostly remembered by her son, Greg, having watched her make it a few decades ago:

1 or 2 packages of cream cheese (softened)
Several (if not more) heaping tablespoons of sour cream
1 or 2 cans of baby clams, drained
Worcestershire sauce, lemon, salt, and pepper to taste.

Mix everything together in the kitchen—taste test at least half of it—and put the remainder in the refrigerator until serving.
