JUDY NADINE (Anderson) McBRIDE

November 30, 1942 – February 5, 202l

Judy Nadine McBride of Seattle and formerly of Silvana, was called by the Eternal Father on Friday, February 5, at the University of Washington Medical Center. Judy was born in Bremerton on November 30, 1942, the 1st year of World War II. Her parents were Ardelle and Arthur Anderson. Her grandfather was the legendary Stilliguamish Valley Norwegian pioneer, Erick O. Anderson.

Judy spent her youth with her parents in Silvana, Bremerton, and Seaside, Oregon. Her father Art served in the United States Coast Guard on coastal patrol watch and on Naval Transport duties in five different wartime deployments. Judy was a favorite of grandparents Erick and Signe, who helped to develop the Stilliguamish Valley into a rich agricultural area from the 1900's.

Her sister Sandra Lee was born in 1951, and by then the family had settled in Silvana. Art purchased his father Erick's 80 acre farm and developed a recreational RV Park. He was multi-talented: farmer, volunteer fireman, neighbor, and dairy products delivery man with Foremost Dairy company. Ardelle was the homemaker and business partner to Art. The family was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church / "Little White Church on the Hill" congregation in Silvana.

Judy attended schools in Silvana and Arlington, and graduated from Arlington High in 1961. She then went on to a work career at Boeing, 7-Eleven Inc., and personal care services.

Son Gary Anderson was born, and Judy was a loving and dedicated parent. The special dedication came from Gary's battle with Deschene's Muscular Dystrophy. His world consisted of everyday struggle and joys with mother, support from his grandparents and Aunt Sandy, and from his aunts from Quilcene.

Gary was the inspiration for his mother's career as a clown. Judy learned the craft, and entertained many at Gary's parties, other children party events, and at civic events. She participated in a number of Seattle Seafair Festival and Ballard/Norwegian Independence Day parades. She also volunteered for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (once meeting Jerry Lewis during a national telethon television broadcast).

Gary left his loving mother and friends on a Christmas Day. Judy moved on with the help of special friend. Notable ones were Marie Hutchins, Tamara and Robert Scott,, and Mary and Terry Hageman. She married Ron McBride, and they later divorced.

In her golden years, Judy enriched the world around her. She enjoyed personal and civic activities. She was known as "The Queen" of the Red Hat Ladies Society of Ballard.

She led many activities, parties, and trips to special places for the group. She and Marie Hutchins travelled to two special destinations, Seaside Ore. and Sunnyside, Wa.

Judy celebrated her ethnicity at the annual Ballard Community Days, aka May 17's Norwegian Independence Day. She was a frequent participant and leader for the activities of the Ballard Senior Center, and counted many friends there.

Judy was passionate about ELVIS PRESLEY, women in politics, & honoring her God.

She was preceded in death by her son, her parents and grandparents, sister Sandra, and special niece Tiffany Maria Pascua

Judy McBride is survived by family: brother-in-law Rey Pascua of Sunnyside, nephew Matthew Pascua of Covington (Berenise, Natalia, and Gabriela), Aunt Leona Gilmore and cousins Claudia Black and Jana Kay Geiger of Phoenix, Ariz.
