IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Johnny R
Anderson
July 26, 1944 – December 9, 2021
JOHNNY R. ANDERSON
Johnny Richard Anderson, a lifelong resident of Stanwood, died December 9, 2021. He was 77 years old.
As the youngest son of Harold and Martha Anderson, Johnny was born on July 26, 1944. After graduating from Twin City High in 1962 and after proudly serving his country in the United States Army, Johnny began a nearly 40-year career at Scott Paper/Kimberly Clark as a well-respected finishing maintenance mechanic and an excellent machinist.
On November 11, 1967, Johnny married his high school sweetheart, Vicki Diane Lund. Johnny and Vicki enjoyed over 52 years of marriage and raised two daughters, Cindy Lynn and Kirsten Kaye, before Vicki's passing in 2020.
Johnny will be remembered as a loving husband, caring Dad and Grandpa, loyal friend, and a man of his word. He was happiest outdoors, be it fishing, hunting, crabbing, cutting wood (and stacking a perfect woodpile) or sitting around the campfire at elk camp with his many cherished friends who knew him as "Sven". His quick wit and laugh will be sorely missed by all of us who loved him so dearly. Johnny's "girls" and grandchildren are forever grateful for his mentoring, guidance, and life lessons, and they will never forget the tenderness and care he provided Mom/Grandma as her health declined. He was a true gem.
Johnny was preceded in death by his wife Vicki, parents Harold and Martha Anderson, and brother Allan Anderson. He is survived by daughters Cindy (Steve) and Kirsten, grandchildren Jonathan and Grace, a host of dear friends and cousins, and a very special crew of hunting buddies.
A private family burial is pending. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Stanwood Camano Food Bank (stanwoodcamanofoodbank.org) or to a charity that is meaningful to you.
