John Lynn Nicholson, beloved husband, father, brother, and uncle, passed away suddenly on January 26th, 2016. He was born to Merle H. and Berniece N. Nicholson on November 7th, 1937 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He graduated from the University of Kansas in 1960, and married Janet Kay Jackson on August 21st of that year. In 1962 during the period of the Cuban Missile Crisis, he was activated for a year by the Air Force Reserve. He worked for Sears, Roebuck, & Co. for fifteen years as a Manager and a Computer Specialist, for eight years in Kansas City, Kansas, and seven years in Chicago at the Sears Tower. In 1976, he moved his family to Issaquah, Washington, and worked as a Manager for Boeing Aerospace, and was deeply involved in the development and building of the B-2 Spirit. After his retirement, in 2004 he and Janet moved to Camano Island, where they enjoyed clamming, crabbing, boating, and being active in the WSU Beach Watchers. John was a quiet man, and kind. He enjoyed gardening, and traveling, with favorite destinations of Sugar Beach, Maui, and Las Vegas. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janet Nicholson of Camano Island, WA; his daughter Terri Perkins of Olympia, WA; his son Brian Nicholson of Mountlake Terrace, WA; his sister Joy Price of Roseburg, OR; and his sister Rosemary Nicholson of Wichita, KS.
