Case
January 23, 1939 – September 22, 2023
John Case passed away peacefully on September 22, 2023, in Mt. Vernon, WA. He was born January 23, 1939, in Globe, AZ. to Raymond & Jimmie Mae Case.
John lived most of his youth in the southwest before moving with his family to Arlington where he graduated from Arlington High School in 1958 where his favorite subject was "football".
John met his wife, Joan, on a blind date in 1964 and they were married that same year.
He worked as a Water Distribution Specialist for 35 years for the Stanwood Water Department from 1969-1986 then with the City of Stanwood Water Department from 1986-2004 when he retired.
John was a volunteer firefighter for 30 years with the City of Stanwood from 1965-1995, which included being the Chief in 1973 and 1981. He became one of the first EMT's for Stanwood in 1971 and used those skills with the ambulance service for 12 years. He was also a member of the Stanwood Eagles #3041.
He enjoyed sports, especially football, fishing, camping, traveling, bowling, and spending time at his vacation home with family and friends.
John is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ray & Bill. He is survived by his wife Joan, daughter Beverly Wold (Erik), son Michael Case (Jennifer), granddaughter Jacqueline Twedt (JT), grandson Evan John Wold and great grandson Jaxson Twedt.
All are welcome to both the Graveside Service at 11:00 at the Anderson Cemetery and at 12:00 for a Celebration of Life followed by a reception at the Sons of Norway both in Stanwood on Saturday, October 7, 2023.
