Obituary

John Wayne (Jack) Carter passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, at his Camano Island home on May 12, 2016 after a brave battle with cancer.
Jack was born April 9, 1948 in Eau Claire, WI, son of William Edward and Louise Theresa Carter. He attended Port Angeles high school and Olympic College in Bremerton, WA. He also served in the Army from 1967-1970 earning rank of Sergeant and he fought in the Vietnam War.
Jack was loved by all who knew him. He enjoyed all aspects of life; spending time with family and friends, wood carving, golfing, hiking, photography, traveling, history, genealogy, politics, and his winter home at RCB in Indio, CA. He will always be remembered as a loyal friend, loving companion and mentor.
Jack was a wonderful husband, father, father-figure, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. He is survived by his loving wife Judy and siblings Bill (Sandy), Larry (Rose), Ed (Sue), Joe, Tony (Bev), Ron (Lori) and Mary (John). Jack was a proud father and stepfather to Andy, Kevin (Gwenan), Mike, Ryan (Jeanie), Nicole (Todd) and a devoted grandpa to AJ, Cayden, Alyvia, Hunter, Will, Mason, Jacob and Blake.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Cecilia Catholic Church on May 19th, 2016 at 1pm – 26900 78th Ave NW, Stanwood, WA 98292. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Carter residence immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family would be honored if you would make a donation in Jack's name to the Cancer Research Institute or other cancer charity of your choice.
