IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James Brown
Cline
May 23, 1939 – May 30, 2021
What is the measure of a man in his lifetime? James Cline lived a life of passion; a life lived to its fullest. James Cline journeyed home May 30, 2021. He was born on May 23, 1929 in Cynthiana, Kentucky. He married Darlene Kay Propeck and for 62 years, they lived their lives devoted to one another and raised their three children Cynthia, David and Rebecca with the devotion befitting a loving father. James served in the United States Navy and served his country for over thirty-two years. He rose to the rank of Senior Chief and served many tours of duty in Vietnam during the height of that war. He returned home and retired from the Navy in 1990 and built his home on Camano Island, Washington. He enjoyed sitting around with his friends, loved to work with his hands and loved to play practical jokes on his children. The Greeks asked when a person died: "Did he have Passion?" By this, they meant was he a good man? Was he good at what he did in his life? To all these questions, James Cline was a good husband, a caring father, a doting grandfather and great-grandfather. He was an honorable and fearless warrior and served his country with unswerving sense of duty. James Cline is survived by his wife, Darlene; two children Cynthia and Rebecca; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one sister. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, David. James Cline will buried with full military honors on June 7, 2021 at 1:00 PM at the Hawthorne Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Washington. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Hawthorne Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Washington
