Jacquenetta Windle

07/22/1940 to 08/10/2013

Jacquenetta was born in Vancouver, Canada to Bill & Lillian Piercy, second of five children. As a teenager, she had been coming to Camano Is. for several summers to help her grandmother. In her sophomore year she decided to stay here and go to school. She took a job, as housekeeper for Dr. Anderson. That fall, there were square dance lessons starting at the Stanwood Grange and Jacquenetta loved to dance. The problem was she needed a partner. Her friend, Bernice (Strever) Hanson, said, "I know someone. He was in my class. He is a commercial fisherman, home for the winter. And so began the partnership of Jacquenetta and Mack that lasted a little over fifty five years. In her senior year they were married over Christmas holidays so she could join him in Alaska after graduation. She spent the next thirty summers on a fishing boat, raising three girls. When the youngest girl was about twenty, she had a boy. Two years after that, they retired from fishing and spent the next ten years traveling the U.S. in a motorhome, while she home schooled Jonathan. They were in all four corners of the U.S. plus one summer in Alaska and a winter in Mexico. During all the years they maintained a home on Camano Is. Where the last ten plus years they have settled down. Jacquenetta got o play in the dirt and watch things grow. Something that was hard to do on a fishing boat.

Jacquenetta was preceded in death by her mother, father, two sisters, and one daughter. She is survived by husband Mack, daughters Teresa & husband Jim Atkinson, of OK Falls, B.C. and Rose & husband Eddie Tjeerdsma of Burlington, WA and son Jonathan & partner Aricka of Bellevue, one brother, Bill Piercy of Surrey, B.C, one sister, Renite Duval of Abbesford B.C, two grandson, Zeak and Logan of Burlington, WA, one granddaughter, Jennifer & husband Miguel Mejia of Everett, WA & three great grandchildren.
