Obituary

Jacob M. Roberts of Stanwood, Washington passed away on August 3, 2021. He was born October 7, 1987 in Everett, Washington and spent the first 2 years of his life on the Sauk River in Darrington. The family moved to Stanwood, in 1990, where Jake grew up and graduated from Stanwood High in 2006. He loved the outdoors and sports. Starting with T-Ball at age 5, there were many years of Little League baseball, basketball and wrestling. He began his successful running career in high school running track and cross country all four years, setting two Stanwood High all-time records and attending state in both sports. Jake attended Spokane Falls Community College for one year before enlisting in the Marine Corp. He served four years with the 1st LAR with one deployment to Afghanistan and was honorably discharged in 2012. He then traveled some and worked in logging, sawmilling, agriculture, and spent this last year in Eureka, California with his father. Jake was so very well loved by his family and friends, and he loved them back. His smile was infectious and he instigated fun and laughter wherever he went. Jake is survived by his mother, Carol Craig Roberts of Stanwood; his father, J. Michael Roberts of Eureka CA; Grandmother Patricia Craig and Uncle Walt Craig of Ephrata, WA, and too many aunts, uncles and cousins to count. Technically, he was an only child but he considered his friends his brothers and sisters. Rest in peace Jake, we will miss you all the days of our lives and we know you are in a better place. Graveside service will be Friday, August 13, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Anderson Cemetery, Stanwood, WA.
