Obituary

Jack Madison Pryor, 82 of the Silvana-Stanwood area passed away on Friday, August 3, 2012 at
Skagit Valley hospital with his family at his bedside.

Jack was born in Tafton, WA. On March 16, 1930 to James M. Pryor and Clara (Anderson) Pryor. The family moved to the present area in 1939, where Jack resided for 73 Years.
He attended grade school in Arlington, Norman and Stanwood, and attended Twin City High school with the class of 1948.
He was married to Elsie Kackman on April 9, 1949, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Arlington.

Jack was a dairy and crop farmer. In 1972 he went to work for Stanwood Redi-mix in Silvana.
He retired in the Late 1990s. He enjoyed his Lawn and yard work until poor health made it impossible for him to do it any longer.
He was the main leader of the Silvana Lads and Lassies 4-H club for several years, and was a past Member of the Silvana Fair Board. He was a Volunteer Fireman for Fire Dist. #19 and for 12, Years was a fire Commissioner. Being one of the first three commissioners when fire district was formed in 1960.
Jack also was a member of the Mount Vernon Elks, and was Exalted Ruler in 1975-76.
Jack is survived by his wife Elsie , 2 Daughters; Cathleen Pryor(Spouse Dick Schaffstall) of Sterling, VA and Charleen Tyler of Everett, WA, grandson Jason (Linda) Tyler of Burlington, 2 granddaughters; Jordana Tyler and Jacki Tyler of Everett, great grandsons Marius (and his mother Vaila) in Sandefjord Norway, three great granddaughter Cayden, Brooke and Reese Tyler, one sister Aileen (Ray) Lund of Stanwood, Sister-in-law Delores Erickson of Port Orchard , brothers-in-law Lloyd Kackman of Marysville, and Rick Hartley of Arlington, also many nieces and nephews, Cousins and Friends.
Jack was preceded in death buy his beloved grandson Nate Tyler, three sister; Tillie Specht, Myrtle Heacox and Betty West, 4 Brothers; Howard, James, Donald Erickson and Kenneth Pryor.
Jack's family would like to Thank Skagit Valley Hospital, Harborview Hospital, Kindred Hospital and Josephine Sunset home for all of the excellent care that he received at these facilities.

Memorial services will be held 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Peace Lutheran church, Silvana, with a reception to follow in the Fellowship Hall.
Suggested memorials in Jack's memory may be given to the Valley View Cemetery, the Josephine Sunset home, Stanwood, Fire district #19 or to the Charity of your choice.
