IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Howard Edward
Wisner
September 14, 1947 – October 27, 2024
Howard was born on 9/14/47 in Albuquerque, NM. Although he only lived there briefly, he loved the American Southwest.
Howard passed away at home on 10/27/24, in Arlington, WA. This was his decision, after a truly admirable attempt to overcome his health issues, Howard had said "I don't really like my choices, but I choose to go home now." All of you that knew Howard knew that he was a lifelong follower of Christ. This faith was introduced to him by his parents, William L (Jack) Wisner and N. Lucille Wisner, at an incredibly early age. Howard showed his love, compassion, and empathy for people throughout his life.
With his chosen profession, he was able to travel, meet so many interesting people and work in the field of Insurance Premium Auditing his entire work life. He loved his work as much as his free time. He was a mentor to many young people. His wife, Paula, did the same work and together they shared the love of their work and enjoyed reminiscing about their wonderful work experiences.
Howard loved National Parks (Yellowstone was his favorite) and being out in the wide- open west, on road trips. He always felt close to God and experienced so many "you had to be there" moments in God's beautiful nature. The Rocky Mountains, the Oregon Coast, Puget Sound, the Clearwater River, Moab, The Tetons, The Columbia River, the Navajo Nation, the Palouse and anywhere in Western Montana. He always had his Rand McNally Road atlas with him, even with GPS available. He asked for and received his first Rand McNally, at an incredibly early age, for his birthday. He visited forty-eight states for work or pleasure. He was proud of that.
Howard is survived by his wife Paula (Smith), his sister Martha Kay Sugg and her husband, Weldon R. Petty. He is also survived by Paula's children, Nelson Bryant and wife, Alison Bryant and Dorothy Reed and husband, Justin Reed. There are also five beautiful grandchildren.
Howard was proceeded in death by his parents, Jack and Lucille, and his brother- in- law, Larry Sugg.
At Howard's request, there will be no services. Please pay tribute to him by remembering your own personal experiences with Howard. He had lots and lots of great memories and stories of time spent with friends and family in Michigan, Colorado, California, Connecticut, Tennessee and Washington State.
