Obituary

Haleigh Jeann Hinderman, age 25, of Stanwood, passed away at UW Medical Center on August 25, 2017, surrounded by her family.

Haleigh was a two-time Leukemia survivor who succumbed to complications from a bone marrow transplant.

She was born at Providence Hospital in Everett, Washington on August 11, 1992.

Haleigh grew up in Marysville where she attended Pudding River Childcare and Allen Creek Elementary. In 2002 she and her family moved to Stanwood where Haleigh attended Twin City Elementary, Stanwood Middle and High Schools, and Skagit Valley CC.

During high school Haleigh volunteered at N.O.A.H. as a dog walker, where she also adopted Sonja and Sydney, her beloved rescue dogs. Later she volunteered at the Seattle Aquarium on Sunday mornings, where she gave tours & loved to feed the Octopus.

Haleigh loved children and animals and was employed at Citipoint Childcare, PetSmart, and at the Mount Vernon YMCA before/after school program. But her favorite job, by far, was being Nanny to her nephew Reed. She would Snapchat pictures of the two of them, "I just can't get over him!" Reed would often visit Haleigh throughout her treatment and walk the halls of the hospital with her, always the bright spot in her day.

Haleigh also loved Art, she never met a colored pencil she didn't want to own. She enjoyed Photography and owned a Nikon D80 given to her by her grandfather. She loved to take him out to shoot pictures with her. There was not a scary movie she wouldn't watch, from a very early age, with her brother Bryce.

Haleigh is survived by her mother Kathy Beams (Jeff Young), her father Tom Hinderman (Kim Johnson Hinderman), her brother Bryce Hinderman (Victoria Handel), her brother Todd Hinderman (Marielle Hinderman), her nephew Reed Hinderman, her grandparents Ronn & Jeannette Beams, and her dad's mom Barbara Hinderman. Haleigh also was especially fond of her cousin Sophia Beams, as well as her Uncle Greg and Aunt Noelle.
